Of the 12 new building permits issued this past week in Alabama for construction projects exceeding $1 million, six are for projects in the Birmingham metro area.

Of these, the most expensive project is a $30 million permit for Consolidated Pipe & Supply’s new headquarters. Here’s what’s up:

A $30 million building permit was issued last week for a new headquarters for Birmingham’s Consolidated Pipe & Supply Co. Rives Construction is listed as the lead contractor.
